Special Places: Iron Mountain |
Iron Mountain is apparently the remains of an old volcanic vent or peak, a part of the Old Cascades that stands high above the surrounding forests. If you hike up through the forest, you will pass through fields of wildflowers (in season) and reach the top. |

The top of Iron Mountain is more sheer than most old Cascade peaks. Beside the peak is a volcanic pillar that attracts the eye from below or above, if you can take your eyes off the Three Sisters in the distance. |
